Mashed Potatoes & Beef Casserole



A taste of Lebanon. This dish is one of my favorites :)
While browsing through a bunch of middle-eastern cuisine websites, I found this recipe and because it was so simple to make, I just had to try it. My first time making it was successful, and I was overwhelmed by the delicious taste!

Mashed Potatoes and Beef Casserole

Ingredients:
4 large potatoes, boiled

2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt

Filling
1 onion, chopped
1/2 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon allspice

Topping
2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
italian seasoned bread crumbs

Directions:
>Mash potatoes with butter, salt, and milk. 
Prepare filling: Saute beef with seasonings. Add onions. Fry well.
Spread 1/2 of the mashed potato mixture in the bottom of a greased 8x8 pan. Spread filling on top. Cover with remaining potato mixture. Dot with butter. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Bake at 250 degrees for 25 minutes. Cut in squares to serve.
