Strawberry Coconut Lime Popsicles

Strawberry Coconut Lime Popsicles
Y'all, I've officially broken out the popsicle maker. It's about that time. Time for refreshing, no-bake treats that are so easy to make, you'll want to make them every day. And since I know many of you are going to ask, this is the popsicle maker I use. It's amazing, and has never failed me. When it comes to popsicle making, the varieties are literally endless and it is super adaptable to your diet or lifestyle plan. I was recently on a 21 day cleanse (shoutout to Simple Green Smoothies ) which  consisted of me avoiding sugar, dairy and animal-based products. And let me tell you, I used A LOT of coconut milk. A lot . In my cooking, in my smoothies, and in my popsicles. Yes, I was allowed to have popsicles. #bestcleanseever And so, I was inspired to create for you my very own dairy-free and refined-sugar free popsicles. It is strawberry season in Ohio right now, so of course, I had to go to my local farmer's market and get me some. My coconut milk was

Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Tiramisu

Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Tiramisu

Have you ever wondered how to make tiramisu better? Well, wonder no more. I have figured it out for you all. Add hazelnut syrup, Nutella, and chocolate chips. This is probably one of my best ideas yet. And I owe it all to Ramadan. When you're fasting from sunrise to sunset, your brain has a lot of time to think about all the things you're going to eat when you break your fast. And it can get very creative. However, I didn't think this through all the way because I had to photograph this droolworthy tiramisu WHILE I was fasting and that was just pure torture. It's bad enough scrolling through my Instagram feed and seeing post after post from my favorite foodies. Imagine having an actual slice of tiramisu right in front of you. So close, but yet so far. But you know what, that's all part of the plan. We fast to strengthen our discipline, and help us to become more thankful of our countless blessings and the many things we do have. It reminds us of the impor

Glazed Lemon Pound Cake

Glazed Lemon Pound Cake

I don't know if it's the gloomy weather we've been having or something else, but I have totally been uninspired to bake lately. I usually draft up my recipe ideas for the blog at the start of each month and while I did have a few ideas for April, I just could not get myself into a baking mood. I think a lot of it actually has to do with the fact that my husband doesn't have that much of a sweet tooth and whenever I do bake something, it just sort of sits on the counter for forever until we throw it out. I am also finally learning how to exercise my self control so sweets do not tempt me as much anymore! This lemon pound cake was originally supposed to be lemon meringue pie macarons. Yeah, that took a turn. I haven't made macarons since December. DECEMBER. I've had them on my to-bake list each month since then and I've just been pushing them to the side. They still make me nervous and when I found myself rushing to get a recipe up for y'all, I stuck

Healthy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Waffles

Healthy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Waffles

So...it's been a while. I know, I know. I tend to occasionally disappear from the blog without any explanation. I don't mean to do it, but life just gets so hectic sometimes. I seriously applaud all the food bloggers out there who have full-time jobs and families and still manage to keep things running smoothly. I work part-time and have no kids and still find myself with no time! I don't even know where March went but I was out of town for exactly 17 days (yes, I counted because I was away from my husband) and then the rest of the days vanished into thin air. And then it was April, but to be honest, April really feels like January in Ohio because as I write this, white flurries are coming down from the sky at an alarming speed. Like, what is life? And even if we have miraculously gotten ONE day that feels like Spring, we get an entire week after that of just the most depressing weather ever. I can't really say it's just an Ohio thing though because while

Vegan Chocolate-Hazelnut Tart

Vegan Chocolate-Hazelnut Tart

Oops, I sort of let Valentine's Day pass by without baking anything chocolate-y for you all. But..better late than never though, right? I've sort of been trying to be on a diet lately and I'm failing pretty miserably at it. I mean, when I say diet, I really just mean I've been trying to curb my sweet tooth. But it's SO hard, guys. I can literally do high intensity interval training 4 to 5 times a week but I can't say no to a Reese's Fast Break bar. And the worst part is every time I give in, I try to justify it. Like, it has peanut butter and that's protein so it's not that bad. Plus, I worked out. And the cycle repeats itself over and over again. So I figured out that I should surround myself with healthier sweets, that way the guilt isn't so bad and neither are the consequences. This chocolate-hazelnut tart looks so indulgent but it's actually made of wholesome ingredients. There's no refined sugar, no grains, no gluten, and

Seeded Whole-Wheat Banana Bread

Seeded Whole-Wheat Banana Bread

Raise your hand if you love banana bread! 🙋🙋🙋 Who doesn't love banana bread?! Banana bread is one of the very first quick breads I've ever made and definitely wasn't the last. Quick breads are so simple to whip up and they're always so moist. They are also super adaptable to be made healthier! Today, I'm sharing with you Lindsay Hunt's healthier banana bread recipe, straight from her newly published cookbook, Healthyish . OXO was gracious enough to send me a copy AND they even provided me with some spankin' new supplies to get my baking on! I don't say this enough but I swear by OXO products! The quality is incomparable and everything is so well-designed. If you're looking for non-stick products that are true to their name, look no further. Not only is their loaf pan structurally built for a secure grip, durability, and easy cleaning, but the banana bread cooked perfectly even and slid right out of it. The same goes for the cooling r

Classic Vanilla Crème Brûlée

Classic Vanilla Crème Brûlée

So, remember how 2017 was the year of trying new things in the kitchen? Well, I have decided to continue that trend into 2018 and today, I have for you none other than a classic vanilla creme brulee! You guys, all this time, I was making macarons and not knowing what to do with all the leftover egg yolks...why didn't anyone tell me?! Why didn't anyone tell me that creme brulee is so easy to make? Especially for someone who has made pastry cream a bunch of times, like myself. It was a literal breeze. Too easy to the point that I was sure I missed a step...like is that all there is to it? Even the torching process wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. The scariest part was having my husband fill the torch with butane; I was just worried he wouldn't do it right and the whole thing would blow up. But, the torch is fine and it was super easy to get that beautiful caramelized sugar crust. For my first try at this fancy shmancy dessert, I am honestly so impres
