Baby Shower Twins Cake

Someday, I would really, REALLY, like to have twins. Like really bad. I would even go as far to say that it is one of my goals in life. Totally being serious right now, and no, I am not crazy. Who wouldn't want a two for one deal pregnancy? And not having to have another kid so soon after? And then being able to have the twins help you with the next baby since they'll be old enough when you do decide to get pregnant again? And don't forget the matching outfits. And picking out complementing names for them. Oh, the list goes on and on. I think that people would actually be crazy to NOT want to have twins.

Anyways, since I'm a single lady (wuh uh oh uh uh oh oh uh oh uh uh oh), and having twins isn't an option the moment, the next best thing for me to do besides daydream about my future twinsies is to make cakes for people who have had twinsies of their own! This cake in particular was for two twin boys, which you probably already figured out by the colors.

I saw basically the same idea online for twin cakes, which was two babies on a cake, either in a stroller, lying on their backs, or more commonly, bottoms up. But personally, the idea of putting a face on a cake or just a human being in general, has never been appealing to me. So I decided upon two sets of baby footprints and minimal piping decorations, for a nice clean look but still symbolic of the birth of twins.

Shockingly, I don't really have anything negative to say about this cake. I think I did a very good job and that it turned out really nice, especially the reverse scroll border, which was my first time attempting. I also really love how the footprints turned out, even though piping them was extremely nerve-wrecking.

In the future, I'd really like to learn how to pipe letters better. I'm still not a hundred percent satisfied with how my writing comes out, but I guess it's just something that is mastered with practice. So, I will keep at this and hopefully see improvement in future cakes.
