I like big cookies and I can not lie. You other bloggers can't deny.
That when someone walks in with a cookie for you to taste, and it's as big as the size of your face, you get sprung.
Wanna pull out your tongue, cause you notice that cookie was buff.
You can purchase the rest of that song on iTunes when my album comes out in July.
Juuust kidddding. I'm definitely not a rapper. But apparently, I've got some mean remixing skills. Who knew? I guess big cookies bring out the best in me. One more reason why they're so awesome.
I know people are always like oh em gee, mini desserts are so cute and portable, and yeah I guess I could admit that they're pretty cool. But big desserts are WAY cooler, especially big cookies.
For one, you're less obligated to share them, cause you could just be like, "But I only have one cookie..." It's like having one last piece of gum. Nobody's gonna take that away from you. Plus, you're basically practicing portion control by only eating ONE cookie, so you'll feel really healthy afterwards. Way healthier than you would feel after eating 6 regular sized cookies, or even 6 mini ones.
But anyways, enough about big cookies in general, what I really want to talk to you about is this extra extra large death by chocolate cookie. If you're anything like me, you saw the title of this post and thought, you know what, that sounds like a really great way to go. And I'm here to tell you that it is.
Though I am still alive, I did temporarily die and go to heaven after taking a bite of this cookie. It was glorious. This cookie is by far the gooiest, fudgiest, tenderest, richest, most decadent cookie I have ever tasted. Think chewy edges with a dense, brownie-like interior. That's what you have here.
I don't think any amount of pictures could do this cookie justice. You really just have to make it yourself so that you could see/taste/die firsthand. I pinky promise it will be the best thing you've ever done.
XXL Death By Chocolate Cookie For One
Yield: One giant cookie
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 tablespoons beaten egg
pinch of vanilla powder (or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract)
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus a few more for sprinkling
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In another bowl, mix together butter and sugars with a fork until well-combined. Mix in beaten egg and vanilla. Pour in flour mixture and mix until thoroughly incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips.
Scoop the dough onto the center of prepared cookie sheet. Use the back of a spoon to shape the dough into a tall ball. Top the dough with more chocolate chips.
Bake for 14-15 minutes. Allow to cool completely on cookie sheet.
