Ever since I started college a few weeks ago, life has been super hectic. And I've been super busy. Unfortunately, too busy to provide you guys with more delicious recipes and photos to match.
Last night, 15 minutes before I knocked out on my bed, I whipped up a quick Algerian (North, African, Middle-eastern, its found in all Arab countries really!) dessert known as Muhallebi. The name varies with region. And the ingredients do too I believe.
But there's one thing that does not change. Its flavor!
Behold, this creamy goodness :)
1/2 cup rice powder1 cup sugar2 and 1/2 cups milk2 and 1/2 cups water1/4 teaspoon orange blossom water
Directions:
Add rice powder, sugar, milk, and water to a medium sized saucepan. Whisk together to combine.Turn stovetop on medium low heat, and cook until thickened and boiling, stirring constantly.Remove from heat and stir in orange blossom water. Then, pour into a glass dish. Let set for 5-10 minutes, then decorate with cinnamon or toppings of your choice.Refrigerate for a minimum of 6 hours, best if overnight.
