If you visit any Algerian household, you will surely eat this at least once while you're there. It's healthy and its scrumptious, and very easy to make. The best thing about this dish is..well, actually, I couldn't tell you. It's a tie between the rich and savory green beans, the mouth-watering chicken, the ripe tomatoes, and the delicious onions.
Green Beans with Onions, Tomatoes, and Chicken
Ingredients:
5 medium-large onions
3 ripe red tomatoes
1 ¼ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, ¾ teaspoon paprika
½ green pepper
4-5 pieces of chicken
4 tablespoons of oil
Directions:
Peel the onions and chop them into moons. Wash the tomatoes and chop them into cubes. Cut the heads and ends off green beans, and cut into three. Wash the chicken with lemon and salt.
Put the onions in a large pot..
chicken over onions...
string beans over chicken...
Chop the green pepper over the tomatoes.
Add oil. Cook at high heat for 10 minutes; bring to a boil. Then cook at low heat for 1 ½ hours, or until water dries up.
This looks so yummy! I will have to try it.
